Tight points battle on tap for URSS double header weekend, FREE Live Audio on RBN The RacinBoys Broadcasting Network

Posted on: June 26th, 2014 by rb_admin

By URSS PR (Oberlin, KS) — A tight points battle in the URSS Kansas region going into this weekends double header weekend, as only 4 points separate the top three, as the Rebels visit DCRP on Saturday night for the second time this season for the Steve King Memorial. Then on Sunday they head for their one and only stop at the Thomas Co. Speedway in Colby  KS.

Last years National Champion, Colorado’s Jake Bubak will lead the Rebels into the weekend with a slim 2 point lead over Jetmore KS’s Zach Blurton and Liberal KS native Steven Richardson only another 2 points behind Blurton. With only 4 points separating the top three this weekend will prove crucial in deciding this years Kansas Champion. Both Blurton and Bubak have scored wins previously at DCRP and Richardson is coming off his last win in Hays Kansas two weeks ago. Zac Taylor, who is setting 4th in points, will also be making his appearance as he comes in as the previous winner at DCRP in the season opener earlier this year.

Saturday night Steve King Memorial will also field a host of 360 drivers as the the ASCS Sooner region and NCRA square off with many of the drivers doing double duty with the URSS. Texan Kevin Ramey will bring his 305 as will Wichita’s J.D.Johnson, Luke Cranston, Brian Herbert and several others.

This should be a great turnout of cars and a great night of racing for a great cause. Racing action fires off at 7:30

Sunday the rebels will head northwest to the lightning fast high bank 3/8 oval of Thomas County Speedway in Colby Kansas. This will be the only stop this season for the URSS in Colby and will likely be a battle of the borders with many Colorado region cars planning on attending along with the Kansas regulars and several from Nebraska.

Last years winner, Colorado veteran Mark Walinder, will be on hand to try and defend his turf along with point leader Jake Bubak, Zach Blurton, Steven Richardson and Zac Taylor just to mention a few. Racing action begins at 7pm.

If you can’t make either of these races be sure to tune in to racinboys.com to listen to all the action live. Michael Wilson makes the call for RBN The RacinBoys Broadcasting Network.
