Bill W's report said something about a throttle sticking in staging and a resultant flip on the FS?     What the heck happened?

The 360s were idling around just before forming up for the start of the A main.  Tyler Brooks tapped the throtlle a bit and it stuck.  He jumped over Joe Beaver and went for a ride.  The pace truck was stationary in the area where the cars enter the track on the front stretch.  Brooks' car was going end over end and was, without a doubt, going to land on the bed of the truck.  Wally stomped on it at the last second and the flipping sprinter missed the truck by about a foot.  Wild deal, could have been worse.  Tyler was okay.  I think Joe's car was okay.  He was allowed to stop in the work area and went back out.

You left out the part about the cars had just gone done with a hot lap session to iron out the track after they had reworked it.   Some of us thought that someone had checked up early or someone had stopped late.   However, the issues with the throttle made more sense.   It was stange to see/hear the wreck right in front of you without all of the normal noise.   You could really hear the car hit on each flip.    Without a doubt, if the pace truck does not move, the car is going to land in the back

Pretty odd incident for sure - unfortunate for the driver. Agree with the point about hearing the wreck - gives you an idea of how violent they actually are. From where I was at, I didn't think it would have hit the pace truck even if the driver hadn't jumped on it. Looked like the last hit would've put it very close but I personally don't think it would have got there.

On another related note - not sure how Ian Madsen didn't get upside down with his incident on the front stretch. That's a long way to slide sideways without anything digging in to cause a flip.

Yes the sound of the crash was pretty harsh..  The cars in the 360 Feature were very fast... They had to have been running at minmum the same lap times as the 410 heat races.

There is GoPro video from the flagstand on the Knoxville Racewway Facebook page.    That was odd and it did look very close to landing in the back of the pace truck.

Speed, You needed to see it from the side view, From my perspective which was in Sec E it looked very close.. Before the truck moved it looked like it would have caught the tailgate! Either way it was an Oh sh!t Damn moment.

I'm surprised Nobody mentioned the Teleprompter below the Scoreboard taking a direct hit from a Right Rear and the applause from some of the people in the stands when the announcer stated it over the PA system!!!

Funniest thing i have ever seen, I say he missed the pace truck by less than a foot. I was sitting just passed the flagstand towards turn 1 and to me it looked like the guy wasnt paying attention and came up on a guy and over corrected. The tire breaking off of an axle in qualifying was crazier though and ripping up the big screen, hope thats fixed for the Nationals.
