Six gentlemen will be inducted into the BCRA Hall of Fame at 1:30 on Saturday. Being named into the BCRA Hall of Fame is a true honor to anyone associated with this legendary race series that has been in operation since 1939. The gathering will begin at 10 a.m. and will continue until approximately 3 p.m. Those wishing to have lunch with the many drivers may purchase tickets in advance for a discount price of $15 for adults and $5 for children by calling (209) 836-2297. Saturday's event will feature qualifying for the midgets followed by heat races for all division, preliminary feature events and feature events that will conclude with the firebreathing wingless midgets of the BCRA, a division that keeps spectators on the edge of their seats from start to finish.
Tickets for Saturday's racing event will be $11 for adults, $9 for juniors and seniors $4 for children and under six will be admitted for free. The gates of Placerville Speedway will open at 5 p.m. race fans attending Saturday's event are being asked to complete a demographic survey upon arrival to the speedway if they did not do so last week.
The survey process will continue for several weeks as John Padjen Motorsports collects and updates statistics for potential title sponsorship opportunities that could bring many forms of improvement to the 42 year old speedway and the El Dorado County Fairgrounds in 2008. Those who have already participated in the survey don't need to do so again. All of those who participate will once again be entered in a free drawing for several door prizes.
