So excited to see Gravel win this weekend in Cali! After i got a chance to meet at the track I feel like it couldnt have happened to a better kid. He's was so nice and approacheable and he really loves his fans. Just what the dirt world needs. A great racer and someone who can be a role model for the dirt track world. Im always gonna be rooting for this young man!! I love watching him race.

Whats been wrong the past 2 years?!?

I like Gravel cause he's from Watertown, Ct. near where I used to live & now visit every summer. ZERO sprint car racing in the area, always curious how he got started. Some of my early HS rock'n'roll experiences were in Waterown, at "The Shack".... even saw the Young Rascals there.....

I could be wrong (senior moment), but I seem to recall reading somewhere that he used to travel to Lincoln (Pa) to watch sprint cars as a kid. He started racing winged sprints with URC.

Hats off to this weeks " Driver of the Week"  Mr.Young Man Gravel

What an impressive evening he had, Quick Time, New Track Record and A Win!

What more could he ask for. Sounds like the Tiner's were impressed With what he achieved

last year with them.. Hats off to them for having him back in the 83...

Seems like they sure Know how  to set the car up for the young driver.

Good Car, Great Crew Chief/Set up and some Talent shows it can all be

achieved.

I remember reading earlier this year that he said he was looking for a ride for the

California sweep,  Sure the Tiners were happy after Friday night too!

Kid filled in for Rosé Last year and did a fine job!

Someone put this Guy on the Outlaw tour with a great team and a Guy

who could really wrench a car like Tiner and Swank and see what he does

What's wrong with Sammy's car?  Nothing.  Oh...besides the fact that a nearly 60 year old man is driving it.  Give the guy a break.  He's older than the fuzz on dinosaur $hit. (in the racing world anyways)

It's hard to cut him a break when he just won the damn kings royal a year and a half ago and  now he is slower then a push truck and in everyone's way at every damn track they race at. Age caught him overnight I guess, I like him but he needs to go home while his name still means something in the sprint car world

I still think Sammy has the potential to turn things around. He won't win the title or anything like that, but he can still win some races. Especially when he gets to the bigger tracks in the summer months.

He was to start outside 2 nd row in feature which would have been good.  His car never  started or would hardly run and took ir to work area.  They did something and restarted in rear, he then again pulled into work area on red flag and restarted  in rear.  Car ran like crap.  Question was what was wrong with car.  Age had nothing to do with it.

I know--that's why i added the last part.  Wanted to cover my ass.   Don't worry--I'm 40 and I have to hear how players in the NFL are old at 32!

David Gravel seems to be able to find a way to win.  He has floated from team to team racig here and there and beatig guys at tracks he has raced on only a handful of times.  I can't imagine what he would do racing for a big name team.  I think the quick times and victories would become a frequent event.  It's time someone gives this kid a well deserved and earned break.

He used to race micros at Whip City in Mass. and come over to PA for the big shows.  I assume it just went bigger from there.

Sammy says the throttle linkage bolt broke or came off at start up of car for A main.  Since no one carries a bolt that small with them they had to use a nylon tie.  That was the problem.  It is a case of if any thing else could happen it will.
