I know it said that Sammy, Donny and Allard have qualifed for the 2014 event via the race in New Zealand a couple of weeks ago so to qualify as a USA driver do you just have to race in one of the 3 qualifers over there? Or finish in the top 5? Does anybody know how that works?

you just have to participate in the event overseas.
The Aussies and Kiwi's qualify for it when they take their Time Trial Lap on Wednesday or Thursday of Nationals.
