What is the proper way to haul a sprint car?

I see some guys put a block under the left frame rail, i see some guys take the shocks off and put struts on in place of them?  Ive seen some ppl do nothing at all, just strap it down,

What is the reason for all of this?

Are you supposed to leave the car in gear when hauling?

What is the proper way?

Thanks guys

It all depends on how fussy you are about your equipment.

You should not leave the car in gear when travellng especially on longer distances due to strain on the parts in the rear.  The reason the rear is blocked is so the car does not bounce like a pogo stick when traveling which can wear out the torsion bars and shocks alot quicker.  That is also the reason why some people remove the shocks when traveling, so it reduces that risk.

One time I was travelling with a team, and a few of us were in the lounge in the trailer going down the road. I looked out at the car and noticed the car really bouncing up and down.  Its amazing to see how much it travels once its strapped down.
