this would be cool ?how about passing out card or flyers at the race tracks about these sites, it might bring in alot of new photos & stories . i bet alot of older drivers & fans dont know this is here.& older fans are most likely sitting in the stands.

The site gets between 50 and 100 NEW viewers a day. It can get well over 100 returning viewers a day. These are viewers that have been to the site before normally after a 24 hour period. I've changed counters a couple of times, I'm sure we would be up and well over the 200,000 mark. I'm sure some of the early viewers can remember seeing the counter up around 100,000. I've always had the counters set to count only new viewers and not reloads or returning viewers etc.

The site is just a few days older than 7 years. Over these 7 years several people have contributed photos for the site. But for every person that has sent photos, I have lost track of the ones that said they had photos for the site but never contributed any photos. It has to be way in the hundreds. I think the main deal is an age factor. Many of the viewers and the ones with photos don't know how to send photos on line, and don't have scanners, let alone know how to post them on this forum. It really can be confusing on how to upload photos to this forum. Then you have family collections from a life time of racing, and who wants to trust someone or the mail with that.

With these Hoseheads Forums you can actually make your own http://www.hoseheadforums.com/photoGallery/photoGallery.cfm. All you have to do is have your photos scanned and on your computer files or on cds.

Many collections have been destroyed because of many reason. Some because of the generations passing away and the photos just end up being trashed. You don't think this happens? I've had dozens of e-mail telling me how sad they feel now because their fathers/grandfathers collections were just trashed. Several have commented about fires, floods and storms etc.

I've made up several cards over the years. I couldn't find the one with my name and address etc.

Some of the early viewers will remember the screen printed shirts I had made up. I seen one Thursday night at Belleville, KS that Jerry Fox from Dewey was wearing. I would like to do that again, but it's not in the budget.

Word of mouth has been the sites biggest PR deal. Some tracks have even mention it on the PA and written about the site in the programs. I heard last year I-70 east of Kansas City had it in their program every week.

I have found the hits have gotten well over 200 a day when the site gets talked about on other bigger forums. I can track where some hits come from.

I have tons of 6 cylinders pics. Mostly of the Tulsa track. I have several and I mean several old programs from the 70's. They are all scanned into my computer. Let me know who you want and I will see what I can do.
