Kerry Madsen – Solid Finish at Rolling Wheels Sets Up Charlotte!
(Bill W) October 16, 2013 – After a flurry of races with the World of Outlaws, Kerry Madsen and the Keneric Racing #29 team have a chance to take a brief pause before tackling the World Finals in Charlotte, North Carolina November 7-9. Last Saturday saw the team running sixth at the Rolling Wheels Raceway Park in Elbridge, New York.
Preliminaries leading up to the feature at Rolling Wheels went well. “We were able to qualify in a good spot,” says Kerry. “That put us up front in the heat and we were able to run second to get in the Dash.”
The St. Mary’s, New South Wales driver started in row four and finished eighth in the Dash, which would line him up for the main event outside of row four. “We actually had a pretty good racecar in the feature,” says Kerry. “I was behind Kraig Kinser most of the way. I thought I was going to be able to make a move on him, but I would get close and just never got the move made.”
The advance to a sixth place finish was a solid finish. “It was a good weekend considering the weekend before (Williams Grove),” says Kerry. “We’ll take that. Rolling Wheels is a tricky place. To be truthful, you never get a perfect car there. You’re always trying to get the car better.”
The down time is just a pause filled with hard work getting a new car ready for Charlotte in November. “We moved forward, and racing with these guys out here, that’s what you’re looking for,” says Kerry of Rolling Wheels. “We’re putting a new car together for Charlotte. We’re really excited about the future and have some exciting things coming up.”
