by Lance Jennings

SANTA MARIA, CA – OCTOBER 8, 2013... Officials with Kings Speedway and the USAC West Coast Sprint Car Series have confirmed that a special bonus will be available this Saturday night. Track Promoter Scott Woodhouse will offer $500 to the driver that sweeps the USAC West Coast portion of the “28th Annual Cotton Classic.” To get the bonus, the driver must set fast time, win their heat race, win the Woodland Auto Display Dash, and win the main event.

Saturday’s “Cotton Classic” is the final point race of the season for the USAC West Coast Sprint Cars. Tipton’s “Hollywood” Danny Faria Jr. leads the championship chase and Richard Vander Weerd of Visalia has a shot at the crown. In addition, the Rookie of the Year battle will be settled between Riverdale’s Landon Hurst and Jeff Sibley of Oakdale.

The winged King of the West Sprint Cars and Vintage Super Modifieds will share the spotlight. The Spectator Gates will open at 5:00pm with racing scheduled for 6:30pm. Among the other USAC drivers expected to be in action are Bud Kaeding, “The Bakersfield Bullet” Rusty Carlile, Markus Niemela, Jace Vander Weerd, Austin Liggett, Kevin Barnes, Matt Day, “The Wild Child” Chris Ennis, Andy Ferris, Kolby Araki, Matt Mitchell, and more.

Kings Speedway is located on the Kings County Fairgrounds at 801 South 10th Avenue in Hanford, California. Grandstand tickets are $28 for Reserved Tickets and General Admission Tickets are $25. Camping is available on the fairgrounds and for more event information, visit www.kingsspeedway.net or call (559) 584-RACE (7223).
