I am looking forward to this years open at Slinsgrove as last years may have been the best race of the year. fOR SOME REASON IT LOOKS LIKE THE CAR COUNT MAY BE WAY DOWN AS SEVERAL TEAMS ARE STAYING HOME OR GOING ELSEWHERE FOR LESS MONEY. $12,000.00 to win and $700.00 to start plus lap money what more can they do to get the cars to come?

Don't give a third of the purse to one team and half the purse to four teams and expect twenty other teams to get excited .

Usually am pretty excited for this race but I do fear the car counts will be low. All though car counts being low do not effect the racing, still sucks to see such a big show have few cars. I think you will see a couple of the high dollar teams but mostly low 410 budget high 358 budget teams with the exception of Rahmer, Hodnett, Middleswarth, Dewease and Wolfe, Monteith.

They could start by taking the beans out of the chili...Everyone knows that beans in chili is just bean soup... :(
Opinions may vary...

Apples and oranges. Weekly show versus special show. Enjoy the show. It should be great.

You're right. Never thought of giving a greater percentage of the total purse to the winner. That should work.

I never went to the King's Royal for that reason. Too much to one position. But I did go to the Mopar Million because it was $10,000 to start. And that seemed fair. And now I can take comfort in knowing that Selinsgroves bottom 19 will share 42 % of the total purse. Nuf sed.

Considering 12th place still pays around $1000.00 I dont see how the purse could be much better. Glad to see that now Rahmer and Ryan Smith are planning to come but it looks like no Stevie Smith, and 28 of the 42 cars that ran Port last week most likely will not be there.

I am just going by drivers schedules on their sites and Stevies next race races are at the Grove and Lincoln. Other driver like Nicole Bower,Cisney and the Coldren cars have no races scheduled.
Port had 3 different cars on Saturday which made 42 for the two nights.

I believe this would be the highest non-sanctioned race in PA by a long shot. Only the Williams Grove National Open, Don Martin Memorial and maybe the Williams Grove Summer Nats are higher, but are all sanctioned by the WOO. I would hope that such a good paying race that honors a great guy like Jim Nace would draw a stellar field, but some drivers don't like the high corner speeds and multi-groove racing that Selinsgrove offers. It's a shame if the teams don't support it because it would most likely be gone in a couple years, but I think they will get around 30 cars which is enough for a good show. Everyone worries about the turnout for the 410 races at Selinsgrove but when the gates open, it's usually more than a full field.

Nicole has been to the last 2 and set fast time 2 years ago. She also lists Selinsgrove as her favorite track.

Wrong, the Dream race used to pay better but this year it was 10G plus lap money and nowhere near $700 to start.

CJB Motorsports & Stevie Smith are parting ways at the end of the 2013 season.
Chad & I want to Thank Stevie, Jeremy, Heath, Mike & John for all of their hard work and efforts on the CJB #19 this year. As it was a last minute decision to put the Black Bandit back on the road for the 2013 season none of us knew where it would lead and we had no future plans past this season. With heavy hearts Chad & I have decided to focus on one team. It was not an easy decision. It is not an easy task by any means fielding two sprint car teams.
We have made many friends through owning the #19 including a strong and valued friendship with Stevie, Niki & the CJB #19 crew. We look forward to finishing out the season with them. I know many are disappointed as are we.
This is a post from Chad & I personally not a scripted press release. I want people to know that we truly love & value this sport and in order for us to continue, it is in our best interest to only field one car. We can't thank all of Stevie's fans for being so supportive the last two years and to our partners, Kistler Engines, All Star Performance, Butler Built, Spectro Oils, Brown and Miller Racing Solutions, Bairs Tree Service, Nyce Crete, Landis Block & Concrete who jumped on board after we had decided to bring the Bandit back this year.
Stevie Smith is not only a great sprint car driver he is one of the nicest people you will ever meet and Chad & I are honored to be able to call him our friend. We wish him nothing but the best of luck with what ever his future has in store for him. Thank you Stevie, Niki, Jeremy, Danielle, Heath, Mike & John for everything.
