Is it just me or does the Knoxville weekly format not work very well for a show like the Cappy Classic? Kevin Swindell times 14th, passes the car that started inside him in his heat race and passes the car that started inside him in the feature. Something seems off about that. I don't have an idea how to fix it, but does this just seem weird to anyone else? Not trying to take anything away from Kevin's win - you could substitute a number of names in there regardless of him winning.

Seems like a lot of lineup luck/chance when there are 81 cars and no real way around it. 81 cars I say/that's crazy!

I can agree that there may not be a perfect way to format 81 but I do think there may be better options that don't penalize drivers for either qualifying too well or not qualifying well enough (due to the track going away).
I think a different format would be cool for the race. I was thinking about it and dividing the field for heats/features would be interesting. Put cars that qualified in odd positions in one group and cars that qualified in even positions in another, giving 41 and 40. Invert a certain number for heats in each group and run eight ten-car heats taking two to the feature. Odd qualifiers group lines up the first 8 inside rows and even qualifiers lines up the outside group. I'm not exactly sure how I'd do C's and B's with this format but it wouldn't be too difficult to figure out.
It would add a little something different to this week, imo. I guess it may be a bit much on the track but I think if advance notice was given the Dunkins could get it prepared well.

I do not know of anyway to time 80 cars and have track equal to everyone. A track will usually get better for a little while and then start to drop off. You saw the same thing with 360 sOnly way they could do it with 80 410 s is to time all cars. Take 40 cars in each group and run heats with your group with top 10 in group feature going to A main. Just an idea.

The guy with the last pill draw won. No one should be talking about the draw. With 81 cars and a very dry track, that's crazy... It was a regular point show. The weekly format was used.
If this post isn't results, stories or something c
constructive, it isn't me!
