If people would stop being so drunk that they can't control themselves and stop sneaking in alcohol it they wouldn't need to do it.  CSC does a pretty solid job with security.

Bag checks are common practice at any major sporting event. I always have my bag checked at the local race tracks, too. I usually have a camera, a couple of plastic water bottles (sealed) jacket, etc - nothing suspect. I've never had a problem with the process at MLB, NBA, NHL and racing. NFL is now cracking down on what you can bring into the stadiums. It's a security measure but rest assured that they don't want snacks coming into the game and cutting into their concession sales.

+1.   If people want to get wasted, there's a bar right across the street! I almost always have a few, (or more) beers at the races, but I can't see what's so great about watching a race blacked out? Go to the Kentucky Derby or something you imbeciles! *end rant*
