reading rule book from WOO, and Knoxville, I have never read anything on engine placement. I do not think one would run worth a crap on dirt. I did see a rear engine Indy car run on Springfield mile dirt, it was not very good. Also saw a rear engine midget at Angel Park, it also was not very good.

Pikes Peak hill climb cars... some awful fast ones there & they're not all front engine. In the right hands & with the right budget... may be a good thing. An awful lot of parts would need to be fabricated and/or created. It would appear that 4 bar upright small block sprints will be the norm for a LONG time... as they always have been. People dabble with this & that & go back to the status quo in a more refined way. I've always been intrigued by something different; must have taken 10 pictures of different trick parts on Kenny Weld's '88 '94 car at the Eastern Museum during my visit; check out that car in this month's Sprint Car & Midget magazine. Rear engine cars... non-downtube cars... coil cars... love it as much as I love different tires on each corner or Ford battling Mopar battling Chevy. Bring on the ingenuity!

Go to WoO rules, read section 15.1 Engines, Part B Drive Shaft Location.

Would that read "Up Deery's rear".

Karl & Mark have been working & testing on this very thing since they dropped off the WOO trail, They will be back and kick everybody's ass with this newest technology for dirt. LOL
