“DOUG FORT MEMORIAL” JULY 6 AT SANTA MARIA
The USAC West Coast Sprint Cars resume this Saturday at Santa Maria (Calif.) Speedway for the “Doug Fort Memorial” and series point leader Ryan Bernal will try to extend his 24-point lead over runner-up Richard Vander Weerd.
Bernal was third in the most recent race, also at Santa Maria, and that was his worst finish in nine races! He has five wins, three seconds and a third!
Nobody other than Bernal or Vander Weerd has been able to crack the winners circle so far in 2013. Vander Weerd and Markus Niemela finished 1-2 in the most recent Santa Maria race.
