GARDNER LEADS WESTERN MIDGETS TO PLACERVILLE SATURDAY

This Saturday’s Honda USAC Western Midget race at Placerville (Calif.) Speedway is the first since Jimmy Sills’ victory in 1996.

Ronnie Gardner will try to protect his 18-point lead over Jake Swanson in the standings, with David Prickett third in the points, 58 behind Gardner.

Two victories at Ventura Raceway are included in Gardner’s five podium finishes in six starts so far.
