RPM SUMMER SHOOTOUT: SUNDAY, June 9th!

for something different? RPM Speedway is pleased to announce a special twilight
Sunday event scheduled for 4pm on June 9th: the 1st Annual RPM Summer Shootout!
Featuring increased purses – yet no increased ticket prices or driver entry
fees – the RPM Summer Shootout features a full RPM point’s event for RaceSaver
Sprint Cars, USRA Modifieds, Street Stocks, Limited Modifieds and Factory
Stocks.
Track promoter Jason Troutman comments: “We’re not afraid to try new things at
RPM Speedway. We feel a lot of fans and drivers will enjoy an event like this.
We run a really fast paced program and the races should be completely finished
by 8pm, or earlier; so everyone can get back home at a decent hour.”
Troutman adds: “We have strategically timed this event at a 4pm start time so
that we can keep a handle on changing track conditions. We fully plan on having
a very racy surface and will not disappoint the fans and teams. We’d like to do
an event like this once or twice a year in the future and we know the
importance of keeping the track surface conducive for great racing.”
Each division will be competing for added purse money on SUNDAY June 9th –
without added entry fees to drivers or added ticket prices for race fans:
-The RaceSaver Sprint Cars will pay $750 to win and $150 to start.
-The USRA Modifieds are racing for $1,000 to win, while the Limited Modified
feature pays $750/win.
-The Factory Stock feature winner will take home $400; and the first Street
Stock winner will receive $500 in their feature race.
Purse breakdown for each division is posted at the ‘6/9 event’ link at the
track website. An event flyer is posted there as well.
All cars in each division must meet RPM Speedway rules, which are posted at the
track website. This is a full track point’s race for all five divisions.
Modifieds will receive USRA points in addition.
Here are the highlights for SUNDAY, June 9th at RPM Speedway:
-PIT GATE OPENS at 1pm
-GRANDSTANDS OPEN at 2pm
-MANDATORY* WHEEL PACKING 3pm (ALL CARS, ALL CLASSES)
-DRAW CUT OFF & HOT LAPS at 3:30pm SHARP (All classes will draw for heat
starting positions)
-FIRST GREEN FLAG is at 4pm SHARP
-REGULAR GRANDSTANDTICKET PRICES ($12 for adults) and pit passes ($30 for all
ages) are in effect, with no driver entry fees in any division. Kids 6-12 are
$5, and ages 5 and under are free with adult purchase.
*Mandatory Wheel Packing from 3-3:30 for all cars in all classes. If your car
does not wheel pack by 3:30 (at the time of the draw cutoff), you will start
your heat race at the tail of the field and there are no passing points for
those drivers. This applies to all drivers in all race divisions.
