Seeing as how plenty of the white stuff is forecast in the US, why not concentrate on the land downunder?
1. Who on HoseHeads has been to Australia and what was your lasting memory? May not be sprintcar related.
2. Who wants to come and what is it you want to see and experience?

I'll take a stab...
Best racing moment: Getting to play honorary race director and throw out the 4-wide signal to the starting field at the Classic in Warrnambool. Talk about goosebumps!
Best non-racing moment: Hanging out the Beard residence for a few weeks with Daniel and Jo. Quite possibly the nicest folks in all of Victoria! Sneaking into Rod Laver Arena to watch the Australian Open finals match was pretty cool too.
Worst moment: Running into Stubb. What a way to ruin a good trip. Sheeeesh

Your asking to much, Peter. I cant type that fast,or
that well either.I have way to much stuff to post, way to many
friends, and I dont wanna leave any of them out. But at the top of my
list is this:
Best racing memories, Staying with the Flentjar family just to the
east of Melbourne. I met Russell Flentjar thru a racing magazine in
around July 1994,and little did I know then I would be meeting them all
just 5 months later for the first time at the Tullamarine Airport in
Melbourne. He's picked me up at the airport, dropped me off at the
airport, taken me to the races all over the place, dropped me off at the
bus station, picked me up from the bus station, arranged for a ride to
the next speedway after my original plans fell thru, and on top of
all that I have spent 2 Christmases with them as well. And thats just
part of it all. At least Russell and his wife Sue have now made it to
America as well. A couple times for Sue,and 3 times for Russell,as he
somehow talked Sue into letting him come over and go racing with me for
a couple weeks, the year after their first time over.I sometimes wonder if they
would have ever made it over to visit the USA if they hadnt known me.
That doesnt even scratch the surface, but they are still my dear friends after incredibly meeting them thru a racing magazine.

My lasting memory will always be "decorating"the side of the road after viewing the coastal highway and having J D Kramer razz me about it the rest of the trip.
My favorite memory was the evening spent in the company of the Physick family at the pub downstairs at the hotel.
Oh yeah ! The racing was great at Parramatta, too.Even tho Laima didn't join in all the fun.(What a surprise !)Bud's Bride

So when are you coming over in 2007 ? Wish you were coming over in July.We would love to meet you at Indiana Sprintweek.Bud's Bride

Stubb .. the roos do hang out out at the Riverside Oaks course I promise you, but tell you what. When we come over in 2007, you can show me some at your local golf course and I'll let you off ....

If Stubb takes you to any golf course, chances are good that it will be miniature golf!

The only kangaroo I saw during my two three month working vacations over there was on a golf course near Brisbane, they are rare at best in my opinion, lol.
The highlights are too many to mention but every day spent at the Fortune fortress was as good as any day at the track, I love and miss those people soooo much.
Photo sales over there were on a par with the Nationals, man they were good to me. Seeing many of them hanging (and for sale) in the Warrnambool Art Gallery was the pinnacle of my career.
Spending a week on the road with Reeve and Carol Kruck was almost as unforgettable as waking up on a trampoline outside the motel after spending New Years Eve with them in Warrnambool.
If anyone ever has the opportunity to spend a few weeks chasing Sprintcars around Australia you will only regret not going. Likely the single best thing(s) I have ever done on this planet. The memmories will be the reason for my grin as I lay down for the last time on this planet. Take It Easy....
