Lawson Road is now open from U.S. 80 to the Devil's Bowl. The last time I drove that - the exit did NOT say Lawson Rd., just frontage, or something like that. Same exit - the first one East of the East Fork Rd. exit. The new street is amazing. If you are coming from I-20 and are going North on Lawson Rd. - the road is closed at Cartwright Rd. (the traffic light) They have a detour, but I didn't take it yet to check it out (it was pouring rain). If you come that way and are interested - I can go check it out. Right now the old U.S. 80 to Lawson Rd. is the best way to go.

Weather looks good. Cool at night but warm & sunny & dry for the weekend .

See you at the races.

Carol, thanks for the heads up about Lawson coming off of I-20. I checked it out today. With the detour, it's almost exactly two miles longer and adds about three to four minutes to the trip. In my case, coming from Mid-Cities area, it's probably still better than going out to Hwy 80. Of course, that assumes nothing changes between now and then! The detour itself is fairly simple. The road is blocked at Cartwright and you turn left. You go up a little ways and catch Edwards Church Rd and turn right. That road takes you over to Clay Mathis. Turn south again and it goes out to Lawson and comes out pretty close to the track. The detour route is very clearly marked with orange signs, so even a yahoo like me couldn't mess it up.
