22 sprint cars...... FT: Marcus Niemela @ 16 flat on spongy track; Rich VDW @ 16.193; Showtime @ 16.199 in the red 21...... Cars on hand: C & D Gansen, Netto, Hamblin, Rich & Jace, Faria, Dolacki, Sheridan, Little, Kaeding, Araki, Logan, Barnes, Carlile, Frith-Smith, Golobic (not Bernal, albeit in the same car), Niemela, Ligget, Kirkbride, Day + one I couldn't get the name on...... Heat One: Sheridan, Jace VanderWeerd, Faria, Justyne, Niemela (on a slip-n-slide track all the way through heats)...... Heat Two: Netto, Golobic, Ligget, Kirkbride, Day...... Heat Three: Bud, Rich V., Logan, Carlile, Dolacki..... Dolacki is driving a repaint of Outback Murphy's fucia & white Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Research car from last year; he's the 2011 USAC Western Focus Midget champ...... A Main first ten start order: Carlile, Kirkbride, Sheridan, Rich VanderWeerd, Golobic, Niemela, Faria, Ligget, Logan, Hamblin...... Kirkbride out fast with Sheridan on his tail, then Showtime suddenly fell way, way back...... Richard "The Rocket" VanderWeerd took the lead by the lap 11 red when Faria flipped on the front straight while in fifth (he climbed right out; the car was a mess)...... A Main unofficial finish: Rich VanderWeerd by a full straightaway over Shane Golobic, then Ligget just nicking Niemela at the wire, Kaeding, Sheridan, Carlile, Jace V., Logan, Kirkbride, Hamblin...... Track was much better toward the end, though there wasn't a ton of rubber down owing to a re-pave before the two classes of modifieds ran...... Not a real huge crowd at $12 gen. ad. for a good racing show, especially for the mods.
