All of the drivers went into the stands with their helmets to collect donations for the family after the heat races. $3,700 was collected. A very tragic night. David who was the Silver Dollar Speedway rookie of the year for 2011 will be missed by many.

I knew David Tarter Since he was a freshman at Pleasant Valley High School. I remember he would wear a shirt that had a $100 Dollar Bill on it that read "Money Talks, Bullshit Walks." I can also recall the first day David got his Drivers licence, He was fishtailing his moms white Grand Caravan around corners right by my friends apartment complex where we had mutual friends. The last time David and I spoke was after the death of my cousin and he was very understanding about the situation. The thing I will miss most about David was his ability to enjoy life. Rest in Peace.
