Sprint Invaders "Illinois River Rumble" Shakes Jacksonville Friday!
(Bill W) June 4, 2012 – It's East vs. West this Friday night at the Brockway Mechanical & Roofing Sprint Invaders Illinois River Rumble at the Jacksonville Speedway! The Sprint Invaders got things underway last weekend at the Peoria Speedway, with Bret Tripplett picking up the win.
This Friday night's action will pit the best of drivers hailing from east of the Illinois River, including Ben Wagoner and Springfield natives Jim Moughan Jr., Korey Weyant, Jimmy Hurley and Jordan Goldesberry. Those coming from Western Illinois, Iowa and Missouri include Matt Sutton, Jerrod Hull, Ryan Jamison, Jimmy Davies, Russ Hall, Andy Huston and many more!
In twelve Sprint Invaders appearances at the banked ¼-mile oval, there has only been one repeat winner. Jerrod Hull has graced Victory Lane on three occasions. Other winners through the years have included Joey Montgomery, Terry McCarl, Tim Montgomery, Jesse Giannetto, Robbie Standridge, Kaley Gharst, Josh Schneiderman, CJ Houseman, Russ Hall and Joey Moughan.
The series was weathered out of two events scheduled for Jacksonville in 2011, so this will be the first appearance since Joey Moughan's win on June 25, 2010.
