And this is where the plot thickens! Should be an interesting ASCS season with Jason Johnson driving with a Roush Yates Ford and becoming business partners with Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. http://www.jasonjohnsonracing.com/PressRelease-JJR-SJR-Announcement.pdf

Yawn. Still no new convert. The Stenhouse name was on a FoMoCo powered sprint car 25 years ago. Why a 360? Ricky shoud have the coin for 410s! Still good news. Maybe Ott could even play with some good stuff for a change.
Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?

First I must say Congradulations to Jason and his team., they have worked hard to get to this place in the road and well deserve any and all help they can get. But we must also stop and look at what the big money is doing to another class of sprint car racing. Someone correct me if I am wrong, because I wasn't around the sport when ASCS first evolved. But wasnt it origionally set up, for the average weekend racer as to make it more affordable by using a spec engine that would allow the average low budget team to be on the same level playing field as everyone they would be competing against. But yet create a competitive show for the spectators. Then at some point it started slowly getting out of hand. The average weekend racer that was basically building his own engines for a cost of $12 - $15,000.00 had to start going to Wesmar, Ott, and other big names and laydown $30 - $34,000.00 dollars to be competitive on any given night. This has already priced many out of the ASCS ranks, and now we have NASCAR money invading again. Good Bye ASCS car count. Hello Racesaver 305 class stick to your rules or you will be next.

David Gravels team runs Kistler Mopars. I also believe Cap Henry's team runs Stanton Mopars.
