Finally after all these years, this is my first post. Anybody know what the format is for time trials? Sprints one night, LM's the next night as in years past?

Sprintcars are running all 3 nights the 360 non sanctioned sprints will run Thursday night and will draw for position, Friday and Saturday the IRA 410 sprints will be there with time trials. I don't know about the late models or any other class and how they will run that show.

According to IRA`s website, they (IRA) will qualify Friday and run off passing points on Saturday. The same as last year.

Last year Lucas Oil Series was a co-sanction and they run single car TT's but the WDRL has a different system. They do a group qualifying procedure.

'WDRL qualifying procedures from the WDRL website:

Qualifying: We will send 4 to 6 cars (depending on the size of the track) at a time to the racetrack, according to their drawing position. We will spread the cars apart and time trial them. It is called “Group Time Trials”

There will be a printed list of Group Time trial sessions. The first car listed in each session will be considered the lead car for that session. That means that driver will receive the green flag for that time trial session. This will be done so everyone knows who is going to get the green flag first in each session, so you need to know who that car is in your session. For the best results all drivers should stay in order they are listed in their group.

Any driver that isn’t on the track before we drop the green flag to start timing his group of cars will be lined up in their heat races behind those that time trialed.
Any car whose transponder is not working will be timed with a stop watch.

After we’re done we will then line the heat races up by each drivers time trial position with 5 inverted in each heat race. Fast Time will start 5th in one heat race, second Fast Time will start 5th in another heat race, etc.

The time trials will just give each driver a starting spot in the qualifying heat races.

We will then go back to passing points and the heat races will award passing points which will determine the line ups of the Iowa Illinois Taylor Insulation Pole dash, B-Mains, and A-Feature with the exception of the cars that qualify from the B-Main/s and they will still line up according to their finish.
