MEDIA- Cody Darrah will look to get 2012 off to a strong start as he
will be in action during the 26th Annual Chili Bowl Midget Nationals at
the QuickTrip Center in Tulsa, OK.
After closing 2011 with a fourth place finish with the World of
Outlaws at the Lowes Motor Speedway, and a pair of top-fives in his
native Pennsylvania, Darrah is excited to return to the cockpit, during
the prestigious midget race against 260 other competitors.
“It’s nice getting a little break from racing, but I’m excited to get
back after it this week,” said Darrah. “Chili Bowl is always a fun
week, so I’m hoping we have a strong showing and are in the A on
Saturday night.”
This year, Darrah will team with his uncle, and World of Outlaw Late
Model Champion, Rick Eckert under the Darrah Motorsports banner.
Darrah will return to the familiar J&K Salvage No.89, the package
he cut his teeth with while growing up in PA, and Eckert will wheel his
familiar No. 24 machine.
Cody will open his Chili Bowl during Wednesday night, as he looks to
grab a top-three finishing spot and transfer directly into the Saturday
night feature event.
“As fun as this race is, it is very tough,” Darrah explained. “With
the best guys from all over the world in one place it’s definitely
important to bring you’re a-game.”
