Allard Triumphs in Season Finale

PETERSEN MEDIA: Jonathan Allard closed out the 2011 King of the West Season just how he opened in; in victory lane as he used a late race pass on Tommy Tarlton to score the Cotton Classic win.

Allard started the night off in style as he bested the 28 cars checked into the pit area with the fastest lap of the night.

After running third in his heat, Allard charged his way up to third in the dash, earning the third starting spot in the 30-lap feature for the Williams Motorsports No.0.

As the feature got underway, JA quickly worked into the second position as he nipped on the heels of race leader, Trey Starks.

Allard continued to hound Starks, as they got into traffic, and actually fell back to third around the halfway point as Tommy Tarlton was able to sneak under the Chico, CA native.

JA worked back by Starks on the 21st lap and then began reeling in Tarlton.

On the 27th lap, JA was able to slide in front of Tarlton in turns one and two, and went on to lead the final three markers to claim the win.

“This thing was awesome tonight, and I have to thank Ashley and the boys for this car tonight,” said JA. “I have got to dedicate this win to Carwash Mike, we tried to get the job done for him in Chico a few weeks ago, but tonight will do just fine. Congrats to Tim and those guys on their championship, and thanks to all the fans for coming out and supporting us.”

ON TAP: JA now heads to Tulare, CA this weekend where he will look to defend his trophy cup title.
