PETERSEN
MEDIA: Despite having his wisdom teeth pulled earlier this week, rookie
driver, Rico Abreu, will still get back to action this weekend as he is
set to compete Friday night at the Ocean Speedway, and Saturday at the
Placerville Speedway.
The St. Helena, CA driver has turned heads during his rookie campaign
driving a winged sprint car, and as he inches closer to a win, Rico
looks to break through this weekend.
Currently Abreu sits in the third spot in the championship standings
for the highly competitive Taco Bravo 360 Sprint Car class at the Ocean
Speedway, where he has several podiums to his credit.
This week to add to the challenge will be the highly touted
California Civil War Series in a combined event pitting the Taco Bravo
Series regulars against the traveling class, in what will be an exciting
showdown.
Following Friday night’s race, Abreu will take his Abreu
Vineyards/Kaeding Performance/Maxim to the high-banked Placerville
Speedway in Placerville, CA for his first career start at the ¼ mile
track during the California Civil War Series season finale.
“I’m excited for this weekend,” said Abreu. “Being in the car the
surgery won’t even be a factor. It’s going to be fun going up against
the Civil War Series two times this weekend, as well as racing at
Placerville for the first time. It is definitely a track that I have
wanted to compete on.”
Abreu would like to thank Abreu Vineyards, Kaeding Performance,
Stadlehofer Construction, Factory Kahne Shocks, Sprint Car Components,
Santomauro Racing Products, and Swift Metal Finishing.
