The world of outlaws has a trailer onhand with qualifying times posted in real time on a TV screen and these can be viewed on the internet in real time as well. Granted GSC is not operating on the same budget, but can we find a way to have qualifying times available for all to see? We see teams stationing people within earshot of the stands to record qualifying times as they are announced, but not all of us have this luxury.

One thought would be to write times on the pit board - right next to the qualifying order that's already up there. Rules mandate that we only have 30 minutes to contest anything we see unfair after the end of the night, but when it's Sunday afternoon before it's clear that a mistake was made - we're left with nothing to do. One spot in the lineup may not always be a huge deal, but when it relates to the inversion and means the difference between lining up on the front row of the heat and the fourth row, there's a problem. We need to find a solution to this.

If anyone has an issue with the GSC, call the promoters/officials to discuss it with them. This isn't the place to do it.

If you're a fan with a suggestion like this, find a way to fund it - transponders, computers(primary, backup), TV screens(primary and backup), and trailer/truck, as well as someone to do all of this - get it from track to track, set it up, tear it down. Sounds like 100 grand or more initial investment.

Which is probably way more than the GSC promoters are able or willing to fund.

I keep track of all the qualifying times, heat finishes, the B and the dash as well for my son and would be happy to share them with you and your team. My name is Linda and my son is Evan in the black 33E. Please come by the trailer and let me know your car number and I will keep you informed.

Linda - thanks for the offer, we'll be sure to take you up on that when we see you at future races.

Chuck - I'm not suggesting we need TV screens available but was looking for other low / no cost ideas we can suggest when we talk with the officials this week.  Obviously it's too late to change anything about last weekend now and we fully understand that - just thinking ahead for the future so this doesn't happen again.  When you're running for points, every little bit counts.

- Drew
