Geoff Ensign in the Ted Finkerbinder #3F captured the 25 lap wingless sprint feature at Petaluma Speedway Saturday night 4/16. Ensign, starting 6th moved quickly to the lead by lap about 5 and led the remainder of the race. Fast closing David Press in the #41made it to the rear nerf of Ensign in the closing laps, but never seriously threatened and finished 2nd. Track was all run the bottom as the top went away by the time the green flag waved to start the feature event. The #96 of Arvo Backholm was 3rd followed by the Parnelli Jones #98 Indy paint scheme inspired sprinter of Bob Newberry. Erik Larsen finished 5th. Rookie Trevor Schmid in the #11t took a wild ride at the start flipping just past the starting stand and ending up just past the pit exit of turn 1. Schmid was reported OK and climbed out of his sprinter. Multiple yellows slowed the feature and leaders never made it to lapped traffic. Good turnout of of 23 sprinters.
