--for immediate release--Petaluma Speedway GEVING TO RETURN THIS FRIDAY Certain things go hand in hand: peanut butter and jelly, bologna and cheese, sprint car racing and dirt and the Geving family and Petaluma Speedway. This Friday, April 1st, Petaluma Speedway opens their 2011 season by welcoming back the two time 360 Track Champion Alissa Geving to the place where she not only learned the trade of driving a sprint car, but where she also won her first main event, became the youngest female to win a sprint car race in the United States, and became the youngest female to win a sprint car track championship. Her father Gary won multiple track championships and grandfather Leroy Geving turned many a lap and won many a main event right here at the Petaluma 3/8ths. Simply, Alissa grew up here. The family lives a stone's throw away from Petaluma, and Alissa graduated from Ursuline High School in Santa Rosa just 20 miles away. The Geving clan has always been a staple of Petaluma Speedway, and they have supported the Baddest Bullring in the Bay Area for generations with fast racecars, birthday cakes in the pits when the time came and end of season barbecues. Despite the fact they have chosen to hit the road the last couple of seasons, and this year is no exception as the Gevings will chase the Civil War 360 series championship, the family still comes back to their roots when the schedule allows. This Friday, when Petaluma Speedway opens their 51st season, Geving's familiar #3x, her mother and her father and her Chick-O Motorsports hauler will be in their familiar spot in the pits, making their first of back to back appearances as April 9th kicks off the 360 Civil War Series right here at Petaluma and Geving will get to test her equipment against the best 360 drivers in the state on her home track. Welcome back.
