This Friday, August 6th, the traveling Hoosier Tire 360 Civil War Sprint Car Series makes their 4th and final appearance at their traveling "home away from home", Petaluma Speedway. Petaluma Speedway and Placerville Speedway both will end up hosting four Civil War 360 races this year all told, with most of the Civil War cars making Placerville Speedway their home base for weekly competition.

Petaluma Speedway welcomes back 2 time 2010 Petaluma Civil War winner Mr. Excitement Andy Forsberg of Auburn, who is also the most recent winner just two weeks ago on July 24th when the series was last at the Petaluma 3/8ths. The points chase doesn't get any closer as Forsberg, driving the Brian Cannon owned Coors Light sponsored #47, currently leads Civil War points by the slimmest of margins, one point to be exact, over the #2sb Robinson Engineering/Riolo Livestock sponsored car of two time and defending Civil War Champion Sean Becker of Oroville. Those two can't get complacent with just battling each other however, as Sacramento's Herman Klein in the Cost-U-Less sponsored, Dale Wondergem owned #91 stands third in the standings, just 5 points out of the top spot. Those three and many other traveling teams will do battle with the local Petaluma Speedway contingent including current Petaluma Speedway 360 point leader "The BT Express" Bradley Terrell of Sebastopol in Scotty DuPont's American Auctioneering #3, Camron Mendes of Rohnert Park, who currently sits in 2nd place in Petaluma Speedway 360 points in the JMS Motorsports #29x and the Nor-Cal Transmission/VSR Steering Repair/Heavy Metal Racing #5 of "The Human Highlight Reel" Geoff Ensign of Sebastopol.

These are just a few of the drivers trying to get a jump on the competition as they start night one of a two night racing weekend. The Napa County Fairgrounds will host the Civil War Sprint Cars the next night, August 7th. With so much at stake, this is a must see for any sprint car fan.

Also on the Petaluma Speedway bill, Wingless Sprint Cars, who are waging their own points battle with the American Auctioneering 3x of Scotty DuPont of Santa Rosa currently leading veteran Sparky Howard of Santa Rosa in the Red Line Oil #6 by just 13 points with just a few races remaining. This makes it two weeks in a row for their class on the Petaluma surface, with Danny Olmstead of Tracy the most recent winner.

Dirt Modifieds will fill out the card with yet another duel between the father/son duo of Michael Paul, Sr. in the MPC #16 and Michael Paul, Jr. in the MPC #50. These two lately have made this their own private match race session over the last few races, with Jr. beating Sr. in two of those three races.

North or South 101 to the Washington St. Exit in Petaluma and then 1 block West to the Wine Country's Center of Speed, Petaluma Speedway.

Gates open around 4:15....

See you there!
