Single Day Gold Cup Tickets go on sale this Monday, August 2nd at 9 a.m.
CHICO, CA – The upcoming Gold Cup Race of Champions is just one month away. Three day tickets have been on sale since October and this Monday, August 2, the long awaited single day tickets for the "biggest little sprint car race in the world" featuring the World of Outaws will officially go on sale through the track business office.
. Single day tickets go on sale beginning at 9 a.m. by telephone through the track business office at (916) 969-7484. Tickets will sell for $40 for each preliminary night (Thursday, Friday). Single day tickets for Saturday's event are available for $50. Three day ticket prices continue to be available for $130 as well.
In 2010, Handy Racing Promotions Incorported is bringing a diverse variety of open wheel divisions together for the fastest week of racing in Calfornia. Along with the racing comes a great deal of after race entertainment that ranges from long time Gold Cup Traditions to one of the regions most popular bands in a brand new event.
It all starts on Wednesday, September 8 with three different divisions taking to the Silver Dollar Speedway quarter mile. The opening night of racing features 360 cubic inch powered sprint cars in the annual "Pacific Sprint Cup" Invitational event, the crown jewel of California's premier traveling series for winged 360 sprint cars, the Civil War Sprint Car Series. But the action doesn't stop with this traditional opener this season. The winged sprint cars will be joined in 2010 by two additional open wheel classes for an incredible kick off to the week of racing.
The wingless sprint cars of the Hunt Magnetos Wingless Sprint Car Shootout will share the spotlight along with the mighty midgets of the Bay Cities Racing Association. This will mark the first time these three divisions have come together in one open wheel extravaganza that is just the beginning of a huge week of racing in California.
The Wednesday night event is general admission with no reserved seating in 2010 and is just a high octane warm up to the following days to come. On Thursday, Friday and Saturday the nation's best drivers come together with the best of California as the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Tour concludes its annual Gold Rush Tour on the banks of Silver Dollar Speedway.
On Thursday night of the 2010 Gold Cup, the World of Outlaws will begin three incredible night's of racing that will exceed a boosted $213,000 purse. This year, all competitors will race all three nights at the Gold Cup with full race programs on both Thursday and Friday nights that will lead up to Don't miss the best drivers in the nation in this event. Friday night will host the second preliminary night of competition and Saturday will be a series of feature events all leading up to the big $50,000 to win Gold Cup Race of Champions.
In 2009, race fans witnessed a race they will long remember when Joey Saldana powered out of the final turn to steal the victory at the line from race leader Jason Sides. It was one of the closest finishes of the season in World of Outlaws competition. When this series comes to a tight quarter-mile track like Silver Dollar Speedway the action exceeds the term "extreme" as lapped traffic becomes a factor for the front runners in a matter of minutes.
Throughout the week on the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds a variety of entertainment venues and activities will be taking place beginning on Thursday night as Kronik Energy Drink presents the electrifying band known as "Double Funk Crunch" in the Silver Dollar Pavilion after the races. This event will be free to all racers, fans and campers and will feature discount tacos, beer and beverages as well as video footage on the big screen of Gold Cup's most fantastic moments. On Friday night the Hunt Magnetos Miss Gold Cup Bikini Contest and Chili Feed returns. Entries are now available for this event that will pay $1000 to the winner.
