Jesse Hockett fatally injured in shop accident

Jesse Hockett, one of the nation's top sprint car drivers, died Wednesday afternoon while working on an electrical box in his race car trailer at his shop near his home in Warsaw, Missouri.

He was preparing his car for this weekend's Lucas Oil ASCS event in Jetmore, Kansas, and had just completed a three-race winning weekend at Sedalia, Lake Ozark, and Double-X.

Scott, Kirk, and all the Racinboys team extends deepest sympathies to Jesse's family.

this is unbelievable... he was one of the best in the world, terrible loss for the sport. My deepest sympathy to his family... RIP Rocket

This is so sad and terrible to have happened. We are having a hard time grasping it.
