As of now it looks like the weather is going to be good all this week. I would think the car count will be good for both the Friday all sprint car show and the regular Saturday show. Smile

Wasnt too impressed with the show last night. Races start at 7 and end at almost midnight. 40 360's and 12 305's. Took an hour for hot laps, Another hour for 7 heats races(which is reasonable), then an hour intermission for driver talking, candy throwing, frisbee picking..etc.., 2 b's, a dash and 2 A's later it was a late night. That is not acceptable in my book, I love what Jackson is doing in having nice sprint car shows, but when you as a fan has to sit through a night like that it doesnt make it fun. I wish I would have went to fairmont and watch 100+ cars race, start at 7 and probably finish between 930-10. I will attend the USMTS show in Jackson, but that will probably be the only one for the rest of the year.

They did have a quality field of 360's though. Tough to beat Sammy running that eqiupment.

From the Jackson website. How many promoters do you see making an admission of not only needing some improvements but positively moving in that direction? I agree that it got late (just as it did at Rocky last week-end), especially in having a 6-year old race fan in tow and a 90 minute drive home, but it was well worth it. Jon, great event and you did do a whole lot better with the weather arrangements this year (although you are getting the wind today)! Thanks!

Jon's Overall Take on the Night: Good Racing, but got done too late. How big of a Stud is Brooke Tatnell? Dead Last Starting Spot in one of the B's and finished 4th in the A ? And he passed most off those cars. Nice job Brooke.Friedrichsen

What Happened to the Time??: The Break was what hurt us the most. The hard thing is getting all the passing points calculated and then getting the guys back out there after they just raced.

I thought the track might be a little wider if we ran the 305 heats 1st.

I almost think we are better off having another class of cars, and probably could have been quicker. We also could look at an Air Horn or Something as well.

Maybe you run the 305 A right after the JSTS Heats?? But then your looking at the JSTS Dash, JSTS B's and JSTS A.....so basically every car in that class has to run again. I guess one thing that just dawned on me is that a lot of the JSTS cars ran 3 races.

On the Line Ups, we already are getting set up on Speed Net and this hopefully helps here. I dropped the ball on getting us set up on speed-net. I am not positive it this would help, but I think it might. We actually do have some classes set up and will be using it for the 1st time tonight.

Its nice having another race tonight to get right back after it...we have some room for improvement.

I enjoyed the show at Jackson last night, but I certainly do agree 100% that they NEED to get their program done much earlier. With (40) 360s and (12) 305s on hand, barring unforeseen delays caused by accidents or medical situations, the program should have been done around 10:30 range or so. I always feel kind of bad when I see parents with young children having to leave early (generally around 10:00 pm or so). This means those fans did not get to watch the feature race. Good to see that Jon is well aware of the time factor, so they truly must strive to make great improvements in that area especially at special events like last night.

The field of cars in the 360 class last night was outstanding! One of the strongest quality-wise I have ever seen in the 360 division in this area. Brooke Tatnell was the show in the feature race last night! From 22nd to 4th in the feature with no brakes during the last half of the race. That was fun to watch! Other than getting the program over at a much more reasonable hour, I really do not have any other complaints from last night. Although I never like to see crashes, we only tipped over two cars last night. I've been to Jackson many times when the number was much higher, so that helped some from a time factor. The long intermission certainly could have been reduced down a lot. And yes, Speed Net will help assist in moving the program along in a quicker manner! I'll be back down there for the Friday night of the Jackson Nationals.

Great show Jon! Brook was the show in both the A & B. Coming from 22nd to 4th with the equipment that started in front of him....amazing. Hope to see him in the 14 around the area more this summer!
