How many of you run the tearoff machines electric or manual and if not why?

Thanks Perry Colby

I've never ran one, but I don't like them. They get stopped up and sometimes you have a really long trail of tearoffs coming out the back of your car. Besides looking bad you have the risk of someone running over that big long string of tearoffs while they are connected to your head...

I use the manual one now, no problems with it so far, it has a razor blade cutter on the side. Just pull the tear away across it. I used to run the electric one when I ran in Enid, mud wasn't as thick up there as SFS is.

I don't like having to use more than 10 tear aways on my helmet, too hard to see with more than that! And I don't like running out of them!!

Perry,

Have you tried those Racing Optics laminated tearoffs? They're more expensive but worth it. You can fit more on a helmet. The sprint guys talked my cheap ass into trying 'em and I liked them so much I still have half a box of regulars just sitting.

If you're going to use the machine, the electric is the better way to go. I, myself didn't like it. Ray used to but I think he's liking the laminated tearoffs better now.

BTW, where you running this year and is lil brother running anything? Haven't talk to him in a long time. Well, good luck, tell the family "Hi".

Cheese I agree with you on the electric getting cloged up

I have used the manual for 10 years with no trouble I love them I am like Andy I hate trying to look threw 15 tearoffs at the start of a race.

The reason for asking this ? is I wanted to by a new on for this year and have had trouble finding one I have used a company out of Oklahoma City called Oklahoma Pulloff for all my tearoff needs for a long time but have had no luck contacting them this year and have come to the conclusion they must not be in buisness.

I orderd one threw Speedway and then contacted the company that made it and They told me there is not much of a demand for them any more.

I do not under stand I would not trade the one I have for nothing

That is why I wanted to get all of your input on why you do not use them

If all I would have used was the electric I would not like them eather Just looking for some input.

Thanks

Perry Colby

MY DAD HAD A ELECTRIC ONE AND HE RIPTED IT OFF BECAUSE HE SAID IT WEIGHED TO MUCH AND IT WAS JUST EASIER THE REGULAR WAY.
