The 2009 Redding Air Show featured the US Navy Blue Angels for the first time in 9 years. Great show. One static display was an old Air Force F-104 Starfighter that the driver/pilot took the wings off of and runs it on the Bonneville Salt Flats. He told me that rubber tires would just burn off it so he uses solid cast aluminum wheels. The second day of the Air Show was today.

Thanks Tripcrwn. It was a fun change of pace. It was 113 degrees just after I left the airport. Randy Frank took some great still pictures there that I saw on Facebook.. The Blue Angels perform 35 shows a year in the US and Canada. It took Redding 9 years to get them back.
