In the Chico pit area last night, Rod Tiner stated that the previously TBA driver for his 83 car will be Brad Sweet. A conflicting race for Sweet was no longer a factor since Wednesday so the defending champion of the Trophy Cup will be in action this year. Tiner's car also won in 2006 when Tim Kaeding drove it to victory in Tulare.
