ALLSTATE LIGHTNING 100 MOVED TO APRIL 7
INDIANAPOLIS – The “Allstate Lightning 100” Lone Star Nationals presented by Toyota for the USAC National Midget Car Series has been moved up four days from its previously announced date.
The 100-lap race, which occurs at Thunder Hill Raceway in Kyle, Texas, has moved from Wednesday, April 11 to Saturday, April 7. An open practice session is scheduled for Friday, April 6, from 5-9 p.m., and more than $27,765 is up for grabs for this year’s race.
The USAC Midgets returned to Texas last October following more than a 30-year hiatus, and Dave Steele won a 40-lapper at the 3/8-mile track in his Nine Racing Toyota-powered machine.
This year’s event, which already has a Toyota presence with its sponsorship commitments, will also be the first of the three-race Toyota Challenge, which awards a cash bonus to the car scoring the most points in a three-race series. The other two races have yet to be announced.
