WG Motorsports and McGowan Motorsports Join Forces for Santa Maria Stop
By Gary Costa
San Martin, CA - (July 2, 2009) – WG Motorsports is proud to announce that WG Motorsports and McGowan Motorsports have entered into a one race agreement for this Saturday's West Coast 360 Non-Wing Sprint Car event held at Santa Maria Speedway.
Wes Gutierrez will be at the helm of Dennis and Connie McGowan's potent No. 11 Maxim that is housed in Fresno, CA. The powerful duo may possibly come together for a long term joint venture to help propel Gutierrez in his racing efforts.
"I'm really excited for Wes, Dennis and Connie are real good people and are great car owners," WG Motorsports team manager, Rod Stiles said. "I'm hopeful that things will fall into place, and that we can work together even more in the very near future."
The 17-year-old Gutierrez is a quick study who has showed speed in Winged and Non-Winged Sprint Cars alike. Gutierrez has had California pit areas talking since he hit the Sprint Car scene in 2008. In his inaugural Sprint Car season, Wes went on and picked up two Non-Wing main events during his rookie voyage.
"This is a fantastic opportunity for me. Everyone knows that Dennis and Connie have great equipment and are dedicated car owners," Gutierrez said. "I'm itching to climb into their car. I know that I will give it my all for them, and do my best to put on a show for the fans at Santa Maria Speedway."
Before the Santa Maria Non-Wing stop, Wes will be at it this Friday in his WG Motorsports No. 007 Winged Maxim at Petaluma Speedway to wage war with the Civil War.
WG Motorsports racing efforts are supported by: ButlerBuilt, Kaeding Performance, Advanced Racing Suspension, Diversified Machine, Inc., FK Rod Ends, Simpson Racing Products, defNder, DWT Racing Wheels, Hertz Rental Car, PPG Automotive Finishes, Lemon Motorsports, Styles Collision Center and Gilroy Collision Center.
