GLR 360 series at ocean speedway in watsonville ca

well lets just say we were glad to finish the main after a first lap incident put us a lap down. a collision with a spinning Keith Day on the first lap of the main nearly ended our night. we were thrashing in the work area as the race restarted without us as it took FOREVER to get the car to the work area. then we got a break as a red fell after only one more lap. we got the front end fixed and a couple of tires changed and were able to make the next restart, still a lap down on the field. the car was not perfect but was fast enough to not loose any more laps on track. a slow start on the night found us in the B main where we were able to hit our stride and finish 2nd. that got us in the show. our car was great in the B and our driver Jason Newton was able to move forward the first lap of the main until he got caught up in Keith's spin. we were all glad we at least got to finish, but wish we would have had the chance to race the whole race with the car we started the main with and not one that had been hastily repaired. we ended up 15th. our buddy Ricky Wright Jr beat us to win the B main while we got 2nd. thats ok since jr was the birthday boy. all in all we did ok. we kind of sucked early in the night but got things worked out as the night went on. maxim chassis and shark motors. we use them both and are happy with them. we have to thank everyone who helped get us back in the race as well as those who help make it possible for us to race.

Thanks to Griffin Const, Valvoline, Thirty Five Industries, Garvin Tile, Empire Pacific Windows, KPR, Mad Welding, Quickway Vinyl Graphics, cmpvideo2go.com, as well as Cambrian Karts, Balfour Caulking and Waterproofing, Kaeding Performance, Crow Enterprises, Bell Safety Equipment and Afco Shocks. The team would also like to thank Circle Racing Wheels for their help in making their wheels affordable to a low budget team!

Next up for the team is round two of the GLR series April 17th at Ocean Speedway.

well thanks gary! one thing in our team as well as most local racers is the support of family. the families of the crews as well as the drivers/owners. in our case maria newton is the car owner (well at least we tell her that to make her happy) as well as the wife of the driver. so as you thank us the racers, we also in turn thank the most overlooked at times. our families, for all their support. it is great to see the interest folks had for information about the GLR series and how things went on it's opening night. while we are at it we have to thank the fans for their interest and support as well!
