What are some of your biggest surprises and disappointments of the 2008 race season:

My biggest surprise was Brad Sweet winning almost all of the Big USAC midget races and Winning the trophy cup with a wing on

My biggest disappoinment there are a few Tim Keadings wrong way wreck, all Joey Saldana's flat tires, and Tyler Walker ruining Jason Meyers shot at the Nationals.

Nothing surprises me in racing anymore, expect the unexpected is the norm.

The seemingly large number of drivers with the neck/back/vertebrae injuries this season is an utmost disappointment.

Enough with the dying already. We have lost more folks in the past couple of weeks than we did all season. Sending out just as many condolences as Christmas Cards sucks.

Tyler Walker passed Jason Meyers for the win? I'll have to watch the replay, I thought the race went a different way...

The Lasoski/Forbrook reunion getting only two wins at Knoxville was kind of a surprise. Although, they were on the podium almost every night winning another championship.

Not really a surprise here, but Wayne Johnson winning a Nationals prelim over Steve and Lasoski, and also an All Star race in Florida over the best of the business with very limited time in a 410 the last few years was pretty impressive.

Mark Dobmeier and Dave Lunstra tearing up the Midwest tracks was not a real shocker, but a surprise to many. Mark proved to me this year he's pretty stout on the half milers as well as the bullrings.

Disappointments? Mostly came from the stands. I too am guilty of this as '08 was my lowest race attendance year in 11 years.

Also, the fact that many fans thought T-dub actually 'cost' Jason Meyers the Nationals. Hasn't anyone been to a race where a caution has effected the outcome of a race? Regardless, another caution after that would've rendered the same result. You've gotta be good for 30 laps, and Schatz proved he is for the 3rd year straight!

Not really surprised by Brad Sweet's performance this year.  He's a racer winged or wingless.  He really caught my eye two years ago when he was driving for Jack Yeley.  He just showed this year how good of a dirt midget racer he is.  He was coming to the front at the Bowl until his fiasco with Levi Jones which took him out of the B and out for the night.

Speaking of the Bowl, Damion Gardner's performance there was quite a surprise to me.  He'd struggled there for the most part and this year he just went out and pulled off the wins on Fri. and Sat.  It's not very often you see someone that could pull away from the rest of the field at the Bowl.

Big disappointments: The continuing struggles of the TSR #20.

Joey Saldana's tough breaks.  He still rules at Eldora though.

The TSR USAC teams not winning a title for the first time since 2003.

Jon Stanbrough and the Foxco 53: The winningest sprint car team in the country over the last two years had a pretty rough year, specifically Ind. Sprint Week which was just a nightmare and eventually forced them to a hault.
