Alan Barton Motorsports – On to PRI with Maxim!

(Bill W) December 5, 2008 – After a successful stint at the SEMA show in Las Vegas last month, Brandon Wimmer and the Alan Barton Motorsports #7TW will be appearing in conjunction with Maxim Chassis at the Performance Racing Industries show in Orlando, Florida next week. The trade show encompasses industries from every aspect of racing, and will be held Thursday through Saturday, December 13.

The PRI show has been held in Orlando the past few years since moving from its original home close to Brandon's hometown of Fairmount, Indiana in Indianapolis. Obviously, he's no stranger to PRI. "I've been to the show every year since I've started racing," he shares. "It's a great opportunity to meet face to face with your sponsors and just to be around anyone that has anything to do with racing."

Chuck Merrill and the team at Maxim will help Brandon get to the show with the use of their trailer, like they did in route to Las Vegas in November. The pairing with Maxim and Brandon is a natural, as Brandon's grandfather, Tom, was a longtime customer of the Springfield, Illinois chassis builder when he operated his "Two Winners" racing team. "I've known Chuck since I was a little kid being around my grandpa, obviously," says Brandon. "They've always helped us out a lot. It's such an honor to be in their booth, because they work with so many good people and good drivers. In my opinion, they definitely have the best racecar out there. Hopefully, we can help them get some exposure as much as they've helped us."

Surprisingly, Maxim has been an infrequent exhibitor at the PRI shows, though its presence has always been felt in the halls of the showcase. "It's been quite a few years since we've done it," says Maxim Vice President of Operations Mike Long. "We'd thought it would be a good thing to get down there with a booth to expand existing relationships and develop new ones too. It also gives us an opportunity to help out Brandon and Alan (Barton) as they try to seek out some additional sponsorship. They were gracious enough to showcase our product at PRI with the use of their team, and we're thankful."

The SEMA show in Las Vegas last month gave Brandon and Alan an opportunity to introduce new people and businesses to the sprint car game and their team concept. They hope to build on a 2009 schedule that will tentatively include racing weekly at the Knoxville Raceway. "We met a lot of new people and new companies in Vegas and we're working towards next year," says Brandon. "Hopefully, it will work out for us, and we'll be racing more in 2009."

Brandon and Alan Barton Motorsports would like to thank the following sponsors for all their help in 2008 and in getting to the SEMA and PRI shows: Maxim, Hedman Hedders, K&N Filters, Gaerte Engines, Hoosier Tires, Goodridge, VMAC Racing, DMI, Wilwood, Butlerbuilt, Real Racing Wheels, Simpson, Winters, MSD, Tel-Tac, Auto Meter, X-Pert Powder Coating, Red Line Oil, Beck's Tree Farm, HRP Wings, Kenny's Components, KSE, FSR Radiators, Dupont, Fuel Safe, WRT Web Designs.

Bill:

Know what Brandon's plans are for 2009. Was Great having him at Knoxville last summer. If it wasn't for that crash in July he would have had a Good season racing with us.
