Jonathan Allard crowned King of California at GSC awards banquet
By Gary Thomas
Oroville, CA - January 28, 2006... Chico's Jonathan Allard was recognized for his 2006 Golden State Challenge King of California Series championship on Saturday night during the annual GSC awards banquet at Feather Falls Casino in Oroville.
Jonathan was given a standing ovation as he made his way up on stage to accept his check and hardware that go along with winning the King of California championship. He gave thanks to all his sponsors who helped make the championship run possible and gave much gratitude to car owner Morrie Williams who believed in him and gave him the opportunity to join Williams Motorsports in 2005. Jonathan also thanked his family who have stuck by his side and have given him the support he needs each and every week. Jonathan also gave a lot of thanks to John Padjen Motorsports and all the GSC promoters who give so much to let us all have fun each and every week.
The 2006 Golden State Challenge Series season was one to remember for Jonathan and Williams Motorsports. In 19 total races last season Jonathan totaled seven A-main wins, 13 top five finishes, 15 top tens and set a new GSC record with 10 heat race wins and 10 fast times. With seven main event victories, it moved Jonathan all the way up to fourth on the all time GSC win list. He now trails only Brent Kaeding, Tim Kaeding and Steve Kent.
For 2007 Jonathan and Williams Motorsports will look for another Golden State Challenge King of California Series title. Our season will kick off on February 23 and 24 with the World of Outlaws Sprint Series event at the Tulare Thunderbowl Raceway. The GSC season kicks off on March 9 and 10 with the Mini Gold Cup at Chico's Silver Dollar Speedway.
