I saw Crocket's crash on 3 different Speed shows. I also saw the K'ville rescue guy running out to the car. Not a fuc*ing word.

Saw Jacob's blown motor coming down the front stretch . As soon as I saw fire I watched the K' ville rescue guy grab the fire extinusher. Not a Fuc*king word from speed.

You guys are the best. If I could afford to race I would put my life in your hands..

I distinctly remember the Knoxville safety crew getting mentioned by Brad Doty during the live coverage.

You are right. Brad said it on the orig. broadcast. I apologize. Nothing on the other Speed racing shows though, and nothing on the best racing in the country. They could have at least mentioned that over 100 cars were fighting for 24 spot.....

Hardly a new language.

What a piece of work is man

Origin

From Shakespeare's Hamlet, 1603:

What a piece of work is a man! how noble in reason!
how infinite in faculty! in form and moving how
express and admirable! in action how like an angel!
in apprehension how like a god! the beauty of the
world! the paragon of animals! And yet, to me,
what is this quintessence of dust? man delights not
me: no, nor woman neither, though by your smiling
you seem to say so.

More recently, in the 20th century, the phrase 'a real piece of work' has been coined. This means almost exactly the opposite of Shakespeare's meaning, i.e. 'a really bad person, lacking morality and scruples'.

They also kept referring to the in-car camera of the 14 as Jason Meyers. However, it was actually the 14AJ of Wayne Johnson. Look closely and on his helmet you'll see the Fattfro Motorsports decal and Johnson across the front. Sheesh!

What I found terribly distracting was the wayyyy high detail level setting on the track cameras which made things "shimmer". For instance looking at the track it looked as if there was standing water on the track with little peaks of white noise - and especially the guardrails looked like they were "talking". That is caused by wayyy too much "detail" set by the camera shader. Not sure if it was caused by the HD cams in SD as it really should not have caused any anomalies (I don't have SPEED-HD unfortunately). Did anyone else notice this?

Other than that it was pretty decent coverage and a big thank you to SPEED for bringing it to us.

LOL@ Duane ;) I was shooting for Kris Krohn and the track - not for SPEED. I would have never let my footage look that bad. In fact when they showed the highlights from the previous nights that was Kris's footage that he gave SPEED and it was the only proper looking race footage shown all night --- unfortunately.

BTW - Duane it was nice to finally and formally meet you (and Wertz too). I'd also like to thank 3E suite owners Butch and Debbie and also Tony for their hospitality while making me feel at home and part of the "family" and also insisting I partake of the fine variety of delicious food -- that was also greatly appreciated. Also many thanks to The HoF's Bob Baker and David "The Hermanator" Hermann for their logistics assistance and hospitality. Everyone helped make it a great experience and we hope to be able to do it all again next year.
