Velocity speed report
8/2/2008 placerville
the velocity motorsports team headed to placerville speedway on a day that the temps were much like gas prices, too high.
The night started out with a team member drawing our qualifying pill and got a 42,which meant being the 24th car out to qualify.
Hot laps would show the track to be suffering from the heat early, and with the sun still beating on the track it would not get better.
Myles and the maclac paints/stud welding products/mtl manufacturing team qualified at 11.758,with fast time being first car out cameron mendes with a time of 10.754.
Myles and the chuck cypert lead team got ready for heat race action on what now was a very dry race track where myles would start 10th.
The team velocity/kaeding performance center/yak graphics maxim took the green flag and was making progress forward when myles half spun and the yellow flag came out which sent myles to the back of the pack.
Upon the green flag coming back out myles jumped into no mans land and drove around the top where he would come up a lap and on car short of transferring to the a-main.
The civil war format is based on qualifying which meant even though myles run 5th from 10th in his heat,he would be in c-main due to a late time.
The c-main would prove to be follow the leader on a single groove track that indiana folk call huggy pole, myles started 7th and ended up 8th after trying the slick upper groove.
Thank you again for all your support and come see us at the races.
