Menomonie WI – The Red Cedar Racing Association Board of Directors has announced two schedule changes relative to the remainder of the 2008 racing season at the Red Cedar Speedway.

The Interstates Racing Association (IRA) Sprint car show scheduled for the Red Cedar Speedway on August 22nd has been cancelled. Replacing that show on the schedule will be the regular five class program of racing normally seen at the speedway featuring WISSOTA sanctioned Late Models, Modifieds, Super Stocks and Midwest Modifieds as well as the Red Cedar Pure Stocks. However, if the Season Championships would happen to be rained out on August 15th , they would be held on the 22nd instead of the regular night of racing. It is hoped to have the IRA Sprints back on the schedule in 2009.

Also, the Enduro that was recently rained out at the speedway has been rescheduled for Friday night, September 5th. Over one hundred cars are expected for the rescheduled event which will see the pit gate open at 4 p.m, the grandstands at 5 p.m. and the race will begin at 7 p.m.

For more information on the Red Cedar Speedway, check the speedway website at : www.redcedarracing.com

WTF? What is the reason for cancellation? Any word on if the IRA will race somewhere else that night before Rice Lake the following night?

IRA officials are working on a new date for that night, but it looks like it will be a one race weeekend right now, there's not enough time to put together a race like that.

The reason is money, if the IRA would have known about it, (Menominee track promoter didn't tell IRA) someone else did, the IRA would have helped with promoting that show, but they didn't even call the IRA about it.

Good going Menomine! Their website says they hope to have the IRA back in 2009. LMAO! Why should IRA waste their time with Menomonie.

Yeah, short notice to book a show somewhere else. How about a two day show then at Rice Lake or another race at Jim Falls? Heck, bring them to Cedar Lake on Friday. CLS could promote it in the short time frame and make $. This sucks.
