The man who FIRST ever brought 410 racing to Osky raceway is in the hospital.

Back in 1982 a broke and poor man borrowed money against himself and lost having regular seasons. He had 410 races on Friday nights.

DINGUS DON " TAC" DYE had his second heart attack last night.

My father, the man who made me believe in this sport flat lined 3 times dead on the way to Mercy Hospital in Des Monies.

He is alive....and knowing his last heart attack in July of 2002.... He will be in the stands for Knoxville In 2008 he had a heart attack the Saturday before Nationals and then made evernight.

I'd have to say sitting here in the Holiday Inn Mercy Center the Funny moment I love my dad for is the night he Walk down from the Grand Stands, as a patron, and handed Ralph Blacket $100 for winning a race over Wolfgang on the last lap.

I love this sport as much as every one on this board. If he would have died I can't say how much Sprint Car racing would be my comfort and my life.

See you all at Nationals.

All the best brother.

"The Outlaws have people out here that don’t know
anything about racing. I don’t understand how they
come up with some of the calls they do. It makes me
think that they just might be that stupid. It’s
scary." -Steve Kinser

Sorry, I posted that last night after making a trip to the Hotel bar for a few hours.

Well, the first thing I said to him as I entered the Hospital room was, "Hey, wake up, i need you to sell me your ticket for Nationals." To his response was, " F*** no, I'm going!! I'll be out of here before then, I'm going."

So, if anyone happens by Section I Row 40 seat 1...Bring a salad.

Wink I LOVE this sport and the people that ARE racing.

Is there anything your Dad would like from Ohio? We will be there and we will be sure to look him up!

Good to hear he's gonna be ok. Bus trips wouldn't be the same without Tac!
