About the only thing Blaney ever did at the Nationals was dump it in turn two with the car his brother hooked him up with after he got out of it and went taxi cab racing.
My wife told me if I went to one more Sprint Car race
she would leave me.................I'm sure gonna miss
that ol' gal.

The race you are referring to was in 2000. Dave moved to nascar in 1998. BTW, Jeff Sheppard had a small part in that dust-up.
Dale has never had alot of success at Knoxville--outside of earning rookie of the year in 1992. Your suggestion that he doesn't belong there is a stretch to say the least.

The George Fisher Racing team that Dale Blaney drives for is not a high-funded team. They do a LOT with a little, mainly on Dale's driving ability and George's engine/car ability. This is the first year since they've been together that they've run for the All Star title, making the trip to Florida and to the other long-distance-from-Ohio races. Just because they win and run well a lot doesn't mean they have a lot of money laying around, so I'm guessing (and that's all it is...a GUESS) the team just wants to get through the Thunder on the Plains Tour and head back home.

Doesn't make a lot of sense, when you can run 6-7 races in 10 days and make some serious money.

The best answer I could give is to see how things go at Thunder Through the Plains and then decide as to whether another week on the road is what they want to do. Those are the important races to these guys, since they are going after a $50k All Stars points title, to say nothing about $5k to win each race plus tow money.
Maybe they could make some serious money...and maybe not.
Fremont also has a 410 race scheduled for Saturday of the Nationals, I think. Is Lernerville running its weekly show (Fridays isn't it?) during Nationals week?
Tim Shaffer (Aaron Call 83) and Blake Feese (Jessup 7k) are also absent from the entry list, among others from that area. Shaffer is racing the Thunder series, not sure about the 7k.
How about Sammy Swindell. He's racing at Chico Friday/Saturday in the Rolfe Trucking 10. Might that team be a late entry if all goes well?

Hey, Jason Meyers and Joey Saldana aren't entered either. Maybe they've already conceded the Nationals to Schatz and are going to PA. or Ohio that week. ( I highly doubt it, lol).
Sam Hafertepe, Jr., Tony Bruce, Jr. and Jason Sides are also not listed but they'll be there, of course.
There may also be some guys who are entered that won't show up, for whatever reason.
What's the latest injury status regarding Kenny Jacobs and Lucas Wolfe? In, out, or uncertain?

Kenny's boy Lee just posted on Pit Gate that Kenny Broke his T-6 vertebrate in his back so I don't think he'll be there.

Cody was tearing it up when I was out East, but look out for Esh...he's coming on strong too...and Leppo...this is the strongest Rookie class we've had in some time...
If this post isn't results, stories or something c
constructive, it isn't me!

Bill,
Do you have a list of rookies for this year's race compiled yet? Just curious.

Guessing 2008 Knoxville Nationals 410 Rookie Class looks kinda like:
Gregg Bakker
Billy Balog
Cody Darrah
Steve Dyer
Doug Esh
Caleb Griffith
Corey Haigh
JJ Hickle
Derek Ingalls
Antony Jeffrey
Sheldon Leeskamp
Brian Leppo
Greg Nikitneko
Travis Rutz
Jacob Schell
Josh Schneiderman
Scott Uttech
Eric Ziegler
Justin Zimmerman
I think I got five of them right....

...and two pretty strong Cappetta engines under the right foot of Darrah and Leppo.
