Does anyone know what Travis Whitney is doing? He ran one IRA race and won.

He's not running for points this year. Travis was at Britt on Friday night and Deer Creek last night but they ended up raining out. He ran the Masters at Cedar Lake and as far as I know a couple other IRA shows as well as a 360 start down at Jackson in May. They didn't have the car ready for the Cedar Lake Outlaw race. He said they had about a 15 race schedule for the #9 car but that could have changed by now.

What's the story? I must have missed the reason he cut back.

I am guessing the cash flow slowed and so has the racing action. The times are tough and money is short. Bummer as the #9 car is a class act and fun to watch.

We'll be running the close-to-home IRA races (Britt, Deer Creek, Arlington, Jim Falls, Menomonie, Rice Lake, Superior, Cedar Lake), with a couple "drives" thrown in (Seymour, maybe Oshkosh). Travis may be driving a couple of times for other people, but those aren't definites yet. I'd say the Nationals is a big question mark. The shop is really busy lately, and it's hard for us to get away for that length of time. Who knows though - it's hard to stay away! |
This is what Lorri said earlier this month.

Yep, what Lorri said. Fine driver who is VERY easy on equipment. I know family and work has kept Travis busy and driving 6-7 hours out to Wisconsin most weekends isn't easy on the gas bill either. Looking forward to seeing him run at Arlington this coming Saturday.
