The A-Main was shortened to 3 laps due to curfew and for a wicked crash into the frontstretch catch fence just past the starrers stand by #84 - Clint Simpson. Also, involved was #7b - Brandon Ashe. Ashe would be OK. After Simpson attempted to walk across the infield he decided it would be better to be attended by paramedics. No word if he was transported to a local hospital or how serious any possible injuries. It was a long night of a very rough track and a lengthy delay after all the heats were run and before the 1st main event (super stocks) was green flagged, The nearly hour long delay was due to Petaluma track personnel working on trying to repair a large hole at the entry of turn 4 and overall an extremely bumpy surface. It was definitely the worst track surface all season. Trying to get 6 classes (dwarf, super stock, modifides, late models, sprints, and mini stocks) of racing in was also a factor to making curfew. The sprint main pushed off at approximately 9:45 PM and with a 10 PM curfew and the tough track; the event was doomed from the start.

21 cars in attendance - Fauver racing again appeared with 2 cars; although the #61 was announced as Ryan Turokowa? from Honolulu, Hawaii, USAC sprints pavement racer JoJo Helberg was driving a #3j (Chick-O-Motorsports) Geving 2nd car.

#96 Marcus Hardina (driving the Arvo Backholm machine) was awarded the victory with the #3x of Allissa Geving 2nd and the #19 of Art McCarthy 3rd. The balance of the results were not posted as of 11PM in the pits. There were so many DNF's, yellows, and 2 reds it was not possible to score from the stands past P3. (with any accuracy)

Fast time was #6c of Jeff Parady with a 12.58 . Also in the 12 second bracket was 2nd quick #48 Kirk Simpson (I believe his 1st time out in 2008) at 12.65, the #35 of Ricky Wright, Jr - 12.69, #43 Bradley Terrel at 12.83. the19x of Brandon Davis - 12.93, and Art McCarthy at 12.98..

3 heats were run of 8 laps each were run. Heat 1 winner was #10x Roberto Kirby. Heat #2 winner was #48, Kirt Simpson, and Heat 3 winner was #27 Brett Rollag.

The winged sprints return next week July 20.

Felt bad for all the drivers. Could have been an exciting main.

Believe me, no one felt worse than us. That hole was going to hurt someone and we had to get it outta there. Took way too long and we all bit our tongues and crossed our fingers, but it wasn't meant to be.
