Sprint Invaders Storm into LeeCounty on Friday and CedarCounty on Sunday!

(Bill W) July 8, 2008 – The Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invaders will invade the Lee County Speedway in Donnellson, Iowa this Friday night in conjunction with the popular Lee County Fair festivities! On Sunday, they will travel to the Cedar County Speedway in Tipton, Iowa. The Sprint Invaders have competed at the Lee County Speedway in more events (27) than any other track, but will be making only their second appearance in Tipton!

Matt Rogerson enters the weekend with an eight point lead over "The Professor" Josh Schneiderman, who won last Saturday night in West Liberty. John Schulz is tied with his nephew for second. "Lil' Dude" Bobby Mincer and Matt Harms round out the top five in a tight points race! Schneiderman's win was his first career tally in Sprint Invaders competition, as he became the seven year old series' 30th different main event winner.

Lee County Speedway has yielded thirteen different winners over the years in Sprint Invader competition. Terry McCarl, Jeff Mitrisin, Matt Sutton and 2007 Sprint Invaders Champion Kaley Gharst all have three wins at the 3/8 mile facility. Schulz, Bobby Hawks and Jesse Giannetto have claimed two wins apiece, while single trips to victory lane with the Sprint Invaders have been recorded by Jeff Nehring, Billy Alley, Skip Jackson, Jake Peters, Jerrod Hull, Randy Martin, Rager Phillips, Josh Higday and Larry Pinegar II.

The excitement will be at a fever pitch at the Cedar County Speedway. Last year's show brought rave reviews and rabid fans! "Flyin' Ryan Jamison scored the popular win on the racy and tight bullring located near Tipton. Korey Weyant, Hull, Sutton and Gharst also pulled down top five finishes! The action should be fast and furious on Sunday!

Join us both Friday and Sunday for exciting action as only the sprint cars can bring! For fun from beginning to end for fans of all ages, make tracks to join us this weekend and be a part of the "Year of the Fan"!

Hog Giveaway

In keeping with the "2008 Year of the Fan" theme, the Invaders will be giving away a hog and will also include the cost of processing. The lucky fan will just have to go to the locker and pick up the Iowa fed, home grown pork processed at the Wever Locker Plant.

Camfab Offers Bonus for the "Highest Finishing 305"

Camfab has offered to award a $25 Gift Certificate from Midland Performance to the "Highest Finishing 305" in each Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invader feature race.

The Sprint Invaders season opener at 34 Raceway saw 32 winged sprints take to the track in search of a qualifying spot for the A-Main. One of those cars was the #23 car piloted by young gun Kevin Hetrick. Hetrick not only qualified but was the highest finishing 305, making him the first recipient of Camfab's award. Thank you Chris McGraw and congrats to Kevin Hetrick.

Lee county puts on a great race. They alway get over in time for everyone to go to the fair. Should be a great race.

Way to go Josh!

Since we had no 305 cars at West Liberty " and who can blame them" I have awarded the CAMFAB gift certificate to the highest finishing non regular at that race. Congratulations to Tim Moore. He will receive a certificate for merchandise from Midland Performance in West Burlington Ia.

Hope to see Tim at Donnellson Friday night.
